However hard you try you can’t escape it . As a proud Gen X’er I relish the fact that I remember using red phone boxes, the whir of dial-up internet and big phone books. It was all we needed. It was all we had!
But being the proud parent of two Gen Z’ers and having family all over the place, I don’t know what I’d do without our beloved social media platforms.
I love nothing better than a voyeuristic trawl through Insta. These social media platforms have provided me with so much relevant information and entertainment and kept me connected to family and friends.
I’ve never been an avid poster. The fear of being misunderstood, judged, or ignored are just a few of the reasons why I’m not the biggest fan of going “live”, but with the rise of the Dawn Treaders I’ve had to reevaluate my stance. I’m now slowly but surely getting my head around the positive opportunity actively engaging on social media can provide. There is a space to connect, for authenticity and growth. Little by little on your terms . Allowing yourself to be seen. Being brave.
